Kssour Agafay (Palace Agafay) is situated in the fascinating medina of the increasingly hip city of Marrakech. It is the first private members club to open its doors in this mysterious city. Built in the late 15th century, the Kssour was originally an aristocratic residence owned by a noble Moroccan family, but which later fell into disrepair. The property was purchased in 1997 by British-Moroccan entrepreneur, Abel Damoussi, owner of the magnificent luxury hotel Kasbah Agafay (Marrakech), and has since been painstakingly restored to its former glory by a team of up to 100 expert local craftsmen. The restoration work took place over a period of over two years and was completed in August 2004.
Kssour Agafay is a grade 1 listed building and has been classed by UNESCO as a world heritage building. Abel Damoussi and his team of craftsman are therefore proud to have played a very small part in saving this glorious Moroccan and world heritage building.
Kssour Agafay Town and Country Club offers members and residents an introduction to a world of Music, Art and Culture. Kssour Agafay members will also receive preferential rates and booking priority on all the facilities offered by its sister hotel, Kasbah Agafay, a stunning hotel and spa retreat, located just 20 minutes outside the city. As a member you will be the first to be invited to all arts and culture events. Kssour Agafay is the only riad in the medina to boast a stunning courtyard on the first floor of the building. The club also boasts two large airy salons house the cosy dining room and a sumptuous sitting room. In addition six luxurious, individually designed rooms can be booked by members for their home in Marrakech. There are 5 double rooms and 1 twin room but all can be converted into twin rooms if required. Each has been restored using original 15th century features and many have a local theme. The Tadelakt ensuite bathrooms are designed blend harmoniously with the decoration of each bedroom. Be you a couple staying in one room or a group renting the entire riad for a private gathering, all guests are made to feel entirely at home in Marrakech
Tthe club members automatically receive an Agafay Town and Country Club membership card. This card allows them to reap the benefits offered to all valued members and to use the facilities of both the Club and Kasbah Agafay.
